TLA V.8 RELEASED!   October 3rd, 2008

TLA v.8 has been released. Features galore! The installed software list has been cleaned up and now has the ability to uninstall apps (thanks Mike!). I’ve make big changes to the LDAP search. When you search for either a user or employee your results come back in a list view. Double clicking on that gives more information, including room number (cheers Greg:). Same with computer name searching. Searching for hostname* will return all the results in a list view, double clicking on a result will do a live connection to the computer. Many new things have been added, too many to list:) Go download it, give feedback cheers!

The Lazy Admin v.7 has been released! This version isn’t a huge release but I still feel it warranted a whole .version number, simply because it has another long requested feature: the ability to start a remote process!

(Sorry, I don’t have a vista or XP theme:)
Please see the changelog for more information. Again, thanks to Mike B for all his help!

TLA v.6.1 Released!   April 6th, 2008

TLA v.6.1 has been released. This “spring cleaning” version of TLA just does a little house keeping/more bug fixes.
Most noticeably is the new icons (see previous post) and some menu changes. I made a menu for batch queries (in hopes to expand those features) and grayed out some features that weren’t available depending on if the host name is resolved or not. See the changelog.txt for the full feature set. Stay tuned for TLA .7, and keep those suggestions coming:)

The Lazy Admin .6 Released!   February 13th, 2008

The Lazy Admin v.6 (Mike B release) is out! I’m calling this the Mike B release since a “bloke” from the UK named Mike B is responsible for it. He worked on TLA and sent the code over my way. Check out the process manager! His fixes to the process manager also closed some bugs/todo’s I had. For the full list, check out the changelog.txt file.
As for the uptime reading a date from the future, I have not been able to reproduce it. I’ll keep my eye out. If anyone notices any bugs that aren’t in the documentation, please report it in the forums or email me (see help->about).
Thanks again Mike!

This is a minor update (or fix depending on your configuration). Actually, it’s a downgrade. I had to remove the save and open file features in the batch query option. In order to use the file dialog box an additional OCX file was required.
As you probably know one of the goals of TLA is to be lightweight and portable. Keeping that in mind I didn’t want the end user to carry another file. LazyAdmin.exe is all you need.
The end result is you’ll need to paste the file information in to notepad or the editor of your choice.
If you’ve tried v.5 and it was crashing when doing the batch query, give this version a shot.
Thanks!

TLA v.5 Released!   November 2nd, 2007

A long awaited feature is now available in version .5! That feature is batch query! You can now query multiple computers. TLA takes input from a plain text file, or you may paste a list of hostnames in. Computers are separated by blank lines. You also have the option to save the output to a file or to put it in the clipboard.
All the output is tabbed (csv ready!).

I’ve also added the ability to select what info you get from the remote host. There’s a window under options.
Of course, there are other features/fixes. See the changelog.txt for full details.

Thanks!

Lazy Admin .4 RELEASED!   October 26th, 2007

Ok, I didn’t release it 2 weeks ago when I said but I got real busy. At any rate, TLA v.4 is available for download!
New features include:
*Service manager - you can now view, start, stop services remotely.
*Remote printer installation - you can now install network printers, FOR ALL USERS, remotely.
*Fixed bad reporting in process manager. The proc. manager was giving wrong numbers, sorry about that one guys.
*bug fixes, fixed crashes. As far as I know, you can’t crash TLA. You might get an error (if the remote firewall is on for example), but it won’t crash.

Please send feedback to the address in the about menu!

Have fun!

Version 0.3 Released!   April 26th, 2007

Version 0.3 has finally been released! I ended up removing the RSS news section. Enough of that, on to the new features:

*Remote shutdown/restart/logoff
*Ping - There’s now a ping window that you can bring up manually, or comes up when rebooting or shutting down
*Cleaner formats - formats are now human readable. Uptime includes the number of days, drive size and RAM is shown in bytes, and CPU speed is shown in Mhz.

TLA v.2.1 released!   October 18th, 2006

Bug fixes and a few new features. Including passing parameters to other programs (such as the hostname, MAC address, etc) all from within TLA, and a history of recent computers is in placed. See the changelog for for information.

v.2 Fixes & Features!   October 6th, 2006

MANY fixes, MANY features. The Lazy Admin (TLA) now supports type ahead find in the LDAP results window, F1 and F2 will allow you toggle between “modes” (computer and LDAP seach), removed the MSFLEXGRID requirement, ability to create custom menus (nice when launching other programs, such as SMS), ERROR CHECKING! Finally, TLA is checking for errors, as such, it shouldn’t crash.
