TLA .8 on the way…   September 29th, 2008

TLA .8 is coming….I promise. Our good friend from across the pond, MikeB has once again contributed some code. I’m almost done but have some more testing to do. Major overhaul of the search AD functions. Hopefully you’ll like it. Stay tuned…

TLA v.6.1 Released!   April 6th, 2008

TLA v.6.1 has been released. This “spring cleaning” version of TLA just does a little house keeping/more bug fixes.
Most noticeably is the new icons (see previous post) and some menu changes. I made a menu for batch queries (in hopes to expand those features) and grayed out some features that weren’t available depending on if the host name is resolved or not. See the changelog.txt for the full feature set. Stay tuned for TLA .7, and keep those suggestions coming:)

New Icons   April 2nd, 2008

New icons coming to TLA. Special thanks to the Tango Desktop project people. Now all I need is a nice application icon (hint hint).

This is a minor update (or fix depending on your configuration). Actually, it’s a downgrade. I had to remove the save and open file features in the batch query option. In order to use the file dialog box an additional OCX file was required.
As you probably know one of the goals of TLA is to be lightweight and portable. Keeping that in mind I didn’t want the end user to carry another file. LazyAdmin.exe is all you need.
The end result is you’ll need to paste the file information in to notepad or the editor of your choice.
If you’ve tried v.5 and it was crashing when doing the batch query, give this version a shot.
Thanks!

Long requested upcoming feature!   October 4th, 2007

The next version of TLA (.5) will feature a “batch” mode. This mode will allow you to read in a file or paste to a window (textbox) a list of computer names/IPs and then gather information on them. Great for taking inventory.

This has been the most requested feature and I’m glad to finally be working on it. Now that many (ok, not all!) of the bugs have been worked out of TLA I’ve had time to add this. I’ve had to rewrite some functions (add the ability to direct output to other places) but it’s coming along nicely. Stay tuned!

Upcoming features in v.4   September 20th, 2007

I’ve received some feedback (thank you!) and I’m going to attempt to add a service manager to TLA. Hopefully, you’ll be able view services, and hopefully start/stop them. Stay tuned…

TLA .4 this weekend!   September 12th, 2007

I think I’m done with TLA .4! I’m going to test it over the next few days and hope to release it this weekend! I’ve fixed a bunch of things (some bugs I was embarrassed existed!), but I got them fixed now. I’ve also added the service manager. You can now view/stop/start services.

More info to come, hopefully this weekend, check back!

TLA v .3 status update   March 11th, 2007

I was all set to release TLA .3 this week, when doing the final testing I realized that the RSS newsreader required another ocx file. TLA has always been a portable app and I intend to keep it that way. I’m not sure if I can work around this problem or not, but if I can’t, I’m going to take out all of the RSS code for a later release. Stay tuned…
